Fractal art is an algorithmic discipline where complex mathematical formulas are transformed into visual narratives. It's created through a process of manual logic, where the artist explores and adjusts specific parameters within equations to discover aesthetic patterns that are meaningful to the artist, then are rendered the into a very high-resolution image files. The image files are saved in a library, then are oftentimes layered through transforms in Photoshop. This is a disciplined engagement with infinite sets that Don Bristow has practiced since 2008, ensuring that every piece is an intentional discovery.

Aluminum is the superior medium for this specific art form because its smooth surface preserves the intricate mathematical detail that canvas texture often obscures. The dye-sublimation process on white aluminum panels provides a luminosity and depth that traditional ink-on-canvas cannot achieve. It's the professional choice for high-contrast aesthetics, offering a sleek and modern look that honors the precision of the underlying mathematics.

Fractal art prints by Don Bristow arrive ready-to-hang, designed for immediate installation. They are normally framed to edge and wired ready to hang. Float mounts that allow unframed panels to hover slightly away from the wall are also available.

Framed to Edge

The aluminum print covers the front of the frame molding and meets the side of the frame for a very clean look. The thickness of the moulding is 1-3/8" deep so your metal prints are about 1-½" off the wall. All aluminum prints and frames are produced by Vivid Metal Prints.

Floated

The molding is recessed 3" away from the edge which gives the appearance to be floating 1 ½" off the wall. All aluminum prints and float mounts are produced by Vivid Metal Prints.

Customization is a core offering for large-scale corporate and residential projects. You can request specific scales tailored to your unique wall dimensions, ensuring the art fits the architectural proportions of your space perfectly. This meticulous approach ensures that the mathematical integrity and resolution of the work remain intact at any scale, whether you require a single statement piece or a massive multi-panel installation.

Maintenance is remarkably simple due to the durable nature of the specialized dye-sublimation process. You only need a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust or fingerprints from the surface. Because the image is infused into the aluminum's coating at a molecular level, the surface is inherently resistant to moisture and light scratches. This makes it much more resilient than traditional paper or canvas prints in high-traffic environments.

Aluminum prints from Vivid Metal Prints are produced using the ChromaLuxe dye-sublimation process. ChromaLuxe aluminum panels have WIR Display Permanence Ratings that are more than THREE TIMES better than Kodak silver-halide prints that have been framed under glass. These prints are engineered for archival longevity, with an estimated indoor lifespan ranging from 65 to over 200 years. The dye-sublimation process creates a permanent bond between the ink and the aluminum substrate. This technical superiority makes the colors highly resistant to UV light and environmental wear, protecting your investment from fading and ensuring the work maintains its original vibrancy for decades to come.

The difference lies in technical execution and artistic intentionality. A standard poster is a mass-produced offset print on thin paper with limited detail and a short lifespan. In contrast, high-end fractal art prints are fine art pieces created through rigorous mathematical exploration and printed using archival-grade materials. The use of aluminum and dye-sublimation ensures a level of clarity and permanence that standard posters simply cannot provide.

Multi-panel wall decor is a specialized option for creating high-impact installations across expansive surfaces. These configurations, such as triptychs or larger grids, maintain the mathematical continuity of the pattern across physical gaps between panels. This approach is particularly effective in professional environments like lobbies and boardrooms where scale is essential, providing a rhythmic and architectural feel that suggests a brand identity rooted in logical precision.  Don Bristow offers multi-panel fractal art prints from 2 to 6 panels.up to 24 feet wide by 4 feet high.
